Some thoughts on
Very good ep! Great twists. So unexpected!

I maintain that I called the Clemmons thing. After I saw the opening scene on UPN.com last week, I was like, Clemmons must be up to something because why would he put the nosiest girl in the school in a roomful of confidential records?

Also, I wish they gave Trina a drrrty name, I can't think of one but ___ Moorehead. Just think of the possibilities...

I think most of the stuff from the ep has already been covered.

Now for speculation galore

The contents of the letter: While I don't know who Chris Talley is, I bet the letter had a pregnancy test. Because Meg's parents are so nosy, she never could have gotten away with taking a test at home. My guess is she went to a clinic and had a test, but had them mail it to Chris, and had Chris forward it to her. This way she could hopefully catch the letter before her parents, and not let them know she was preggers...

As for the pregnancy, I don't think the baby is Duncan's. At the time of the bus crash, Meg could not have been more than 2 months pregnant or else she would have had to show a little. I was watching this with a friend who went to nursing school, and she said that a baby younger than 8 weeks could survive it as long as there were no direct blows to the stomach, but after that point, the baby would have died. Rewind two months and we are in July, maybe late June. Meg and Duncan broke up in May. And as much as I doubt Meg would have sex with Duncan when they were together, I doubt it even more that she'd have sex with him after he broke up with her. My theory is Meg's dad raped her or something. It's sick and incestuous and disturbing but, Meg's dad is a sick and disturbing man. He has no problems abusing Grace, so we have no idea where his ethical line is drawn. And we all wondered why Grace is the only one abused, but maybe it's not the case.

As for who dies next week, my guess is Weevil. His gang is in the middle of a comeuppance, and now he's teaming up with the enemy. I can see the biker who has been causing all the other shit using that as motivation for a mutiny. Weevil is the only expendable character whose death could forward the plot. I highly doubt it will be Duncan because Meg waking up puts him in a very interesting storyline, and him dying wouldn't make the storyline any more interesting. Weevil's death would make Veronica more determined to find out who killed Felix.

Okay, this is the most far fetched, but if my second theory applies, with Papa Manning being the father of the baby, do you think they caused the bus crash? Daddy finds out Meg is pregnant, and he can't let her have that baby, or have an abortion because of religion, he decides to get rid of the problem. By making the bus crash, then the body won't be found, so no one would ever know about Meg's pregnancy which also avoids the problem of a DNA test proving Meg was carrying his baby. Then the bus crash becomes incredibly ironic, because Meg is the only survivor, which is something I think RT would do.

I'll probably add more later, as I rewatch and get more ideas. Tell me what you think!!

As for who dies next week, my guess is Weevil

I've been thinking this too but didn't want to say because I love Weevil! I *really* don't want him to die. Actually, that's the problem with this show. Even if I don't love them all I have some kind of affection for most of them. Hey - maybe Jackie will die! ;)

I think your Papa the rapist theory is an interesting one... I think the Mannings definitely had some involvement in the crash. maybe it was because they knew Meg was ratting them out to child services?

I'm very meh about Weevil. I think other than his soft spot for V, his intentions are bad and harmful, and like Veronica said, "At the end of the day, he is still the leader of a motorcycle gang."

Also, the only thing Jackie dying would do is make 3 million viewers happy, but cause no controversy. If they are killing off a character, at least they'll want some action out of it. Unless Veronica is the one to do it, which could possibly cause controversy, but no, I don't see this happening.

Good point! I didn't even think of that!

my problem with the idea of Weevs dying (other than that I love him!) is that Logan would, once again, be blamed. And how many murders per season can the boy be blamed for?

My problem with the Chris Talley letter is: if the info within was so important and private, why chance mailing it at all? Meg had a secret laptop her parents knew nothing about, why not talk through email or something? I'm very stumped by the letter situation, so I actually lean toward the idea it had nothing to do with the pregnancy and was about something else entirely? I'm not sure, maybe it was just a flub by TPTB, but they rarely make flubs it seems.

I like your Weevil dying theory because it makes sense to the storyline so far, but I thought the person dying was actually in the alt ending, not in next week's epi. I thought the preview just muddled things a bit because it went from- Preview for next week, right into Promo for alt ending at AOL. Maybe I'm confused though. hee

And Meg's dad causing the crash would be really twisted. I like it!

I have issues with the math of pregnancy timeline, because I think, although please tell me what your nurse friend thinks, but if Meg was either barely pregnant at the time of the crash (ie, no way it'd Duncan's), or, god forbid, something Kill Bill-esque happened and she became pregnant after the crash, her showing not at all in NitW combined with the degree to which she was showing last night makes no sense. She looked about 8 months pregnant to me. Ask the medical professionals?

I have no idea how she blew up that quickly. We both thought that was off. How could Meg have gone from not showing at all to looking like there is a giant balloon in there in 2.5-3 months? Maybe props/fashion/whoever makes pregnancies exaggerated how big the stomach would be, just for effect or slow viewers...
